The Communications and Arts Division and the NPC Library held the 11th annual Poetry
in the Park competition last week as part of the Student Art Showcase. Students, faculty
and staff were encouraged to enter poems that reflected the theme of new beginnings
and rebirth. Thirteen students entered along with five faculty and staff.
Allyson Marx entered her poem 鈥淲eeping Willow鈥� which took first place among the students.
鈥淭he Ice Storm鈥� by Janet Mauk won first among faculty and staff. Each winner received
a goodie bag from the Hawk鈥檚 Nest bookstore at NPC.
