

The United Way of the Ouachitas presented a check in the amount of $5000 to National
Park College this week from the Oaklawn Wellness Fund. The fund was created to help
NPC students in need and will provide food, medical care, hygiene products, dental
services, as well as transportation in the form of bus passes and gas cards. 鈥淲hat
good is your tuition if you can鈥檛 get [to class]?鈥 said Katie Gibson, Associate Director
of the United Way of the Ouachitas. 鈥淛ust because you鈥檝e graduated high school doesn鈥檛
mean you don鈥檛 have needs.鈥
鈥淲e鈥檙e honored to have the Support of the United Way and the Oaklawn Wellness program,鈥
said NPC Foundation Executive Director Nicole Herndon. 鈥淓ach year this fund impacts
so many of our students and provides the everyday necessities so many of us take for
granted. It is a privilege for us to administer the funds to our students and to help
them succeed with their education and goals.鈥
