Board of trustees member, Don Harris, speaking with Mrs. Donathan.黑料福利社 (NPC) hosted a dedication ceremony for the Ray and Willodene Donathan Pavilion Friday outside the Student Commons building.

Ray and Willodene Donathan believed strongly in the value of an education for improving the lives of students. Mr. Donathan was elected to the Board of Trustees for Garland County Community College, now NPC, in 1976, where he served for 40 years. He passed in late 2019 and the Donathan family chose to honor his legacy by naming the Ray and Willodene Donathan Pavilion next to the Student Commons building.

鈥淗e served faithfully on the board through changes in the presidency, transformation in the College name, and affiliations with other regional universities he trusted would help grow opportunities for 黑料福利社 and its students. Continuing his vision, the Ray and Willodene Donathan Pavilion will provide vital meeting space for students, classes, and events. Additionally, the Ray and Willodene Donathan Scholarships will give financial aid to students pursuing a business degree. The Donathan family is excited for the future of 黑料福利社 and thrilled to continue to play an active role,鈥 said Dr. Cyndi Donathan Morgan. Morgan is the daughter of Ray and Willodene Donathan.

Former long-standing Board of Trustees member, Don Harris reminisced about the years of service he shared with Mr. Donathan. 鈥淭here is something about being on this board that is such an honor,鈥 he said. He noted how rewarding it is to see how the students persevere. 鈥淚t was just great to see them cross the stage and graduate.鈥 He shared about Mr. Donathan鈥檚 pride and commitment to his family and how proud he was of his two daughters. 鈥淗e was a good man. He had a good head on his shoulders and he wanted what was best for the administration, the staff and particularly the students that attended this school.鈥

NPC President, Dr. John Hogan said 鈥淩ay and his family understand that our students鈥 dreams are our dreams and that we listen to the voice of our students. This building is representative of that vision for what the College would be and what he held us accountable to put into play.鈥
