黑料福利社 (NPC) recently welcomed a new culinary talent, Executive Chef
Julia Marshall, to its campus. Chartwells, the College鈥檚 dining service provider proudly
announced the addition to their team earlier this year.
Chef Marshall has been named a finalist in the Sentinel Record鈥檚 Reader鈥檚 Choice Awards.
The Reader鈥檚 Choice Awards is an annual celebration of community favorites that invites
readers to nominate and vote for local businesses, individuals, and services that
significantly impact their lives.
Marshall, a Pine Bluff native, brings a wealth of experience from her previous role
as a sous chef at Saracen Casino Hotel and Resort. Her academic credentials include
a degree in culinary arts and bakery and pastry arts from Pulaski Technical College,
complemented by a certificate in dietary management.
In addition to her role at NPC, Chef Marshall recently showcased her culinary skills
in the 2024 Delta Diamond Chef Competition. The competition, held at the University
of Arkansas - Pulaski Tech Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management Institute in Little
Rock, featured eight chefs and their teams vying for two coveted spots in the finals
last October. After two rounds, Marshall鈥檚 team secured a place among the top two,
setting their sights on the final showdown at the Pine Bluff Country Club.

The winners of the Reader鈥檚 Choice Awards was announced and featured in a special
section of the Sentinel Record, highlighting their contributions and excellence in
their respective fields. Chef Marshall鈥檚 nomination is a testament to her culinary
expertise and dedication to enhancing the dining experience at NPC.
